I thought I was dead

So I am in Coeur D’ Alene Idaho for the next two days with my roomate David driving the boat for Fairwoods Youth Camp, which is less fun than it sounds cause its alot of work and alot of responsibility watching over everybody who isn’t used to a boat and tube ropes, it can get quite exhausting. Well about an hour into pulling tubers, the boat started acting funny and going slow. And we knew that there was some water in the hull as we have had this happen before. I usually forget to put the plug in the bottom of the boat which keeps the water out. Well, I didn’t forget to put the plug in, but while we were driving the plug came out and started to full the boat. Now at this point there wasn’t a whole lot of water in there, but we couldn’t find the plug, cause it sits in the bottom of the engine, so I get down and start feeling around the engine, scraping my hand and burning it, while David gets the other people in the boat to get life jackets on and getting ready to call the other boat to come get us. I finally found it, but we were maybe 5 minutes from abandoning the boat. I have had one or two close calls, but this was by far the closest. My heart was beating like 180 bpm for at lest 30 minutes after that. Everything is ok and we had to sit there for half hour while we waited for the boat to empty, but that was intense, and since I am alive and the boat is still on the trailer, in hindsight it is a good blog story.

  1. Man Brent I am so glad you guys are okay, I hope nothing like that happens at my camp this week. I can’t believe we’re both using vacation to help out at a youth camp on the same week. wacky.
